Target Information
ACOX1 유전자가 암호화하는 단백질은 지방산 β-산화 경로의 첫 번째 효소로, acyl-CoA를 2-trans-enoyl-CoA로 불포화시키는 반응을 촉매합니다. 이 효소는 전자를 산소로 직접 전달하여 과산화수소를 생성합니다. ACOX1 유전자 결함은 매우 긴 사슬 지방산이 축적되는 가성신생아 부신백질이영양증(pseudoneonatal adrenoleukodystrophy)을 유발할 수 있습니다. 또한, 다양한 이소폼을 암호화하는 전사 변이체가 존재합니다.
