Target Information
HOXB13 encodes a transcription factor belonging to the homeobox gene family, which is highly conserved among vertebrates and plays a crucial role in embryonic development.
This gene is involved in fetal skin development and cutaneous regeneration.
In mice, a similar gene exhibits temporal and spatial colinearity along the main body axis of the embryo, suggesting a role in body patterning.
HOXB13 and other HOXB genes form a gene cluster in the chromosome 17q21–22 region.
