Target Information

ITGA3 (Integrin, Alpha-3), also known as CD49c, VLA3, or GAPB3, is a cell surface adhesion molecule encoded by the ITGA3 gene located on chromosome 17q21.33.
ITGA3 forms part of the alpha3beta1 integrin complex, which plays a key role in neural migration and corticogenesis through interaction with the beta-1 subunit.
It has been linked to DAB1 phosphorylation signaling, influencing neuronal detachment from radial glial fibers.
Expression of human ITGA3 enhances viral infectivity in Chinese hamster ovary cells.
The protein includes 13 potential N-glycosylation sites, 2 cleavage sites, and 7 N-terminal repeating units typical of integrins.
Recombinant ITGA3 is expressed as a 150-kDa protein, consistent with the native form observed by western blot.
