Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD19 (B4), a 95 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein (immunoglobulin superfamily) expressed on B lymphocytes and follicular dendritic cells. Expression is lost on plasma cells.
Target Information
CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on nearly all peripheral B cells and certain myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 functions as a coreceptor with the B cell receptor (BCR), lowering the threshold for antigen receptor-dependent stimulation. It plays a central role in regulating normal and malignant B cell proliferation and differentiation. Mutations in CD19 can lead to hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression may cause B cell hyperactivity.
