Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes a common extracellular epitope on MICA and MICB glycoproteins, which are transmembrane ligands of CD314 (NKG2D). It can block CD314-mediated activation of NK cells and cytotoxic T cells.
Target Information
MICA encodes a highly polymorphic MHC (HLA) class I chain-related gene A. The protein is expressed on the cell surface but does not associate with beta-2-microglobulin like canonical class I molecules. MICA functions as a stress-induced antigen broadly recognized by intestinal epithelial gamma delta T cells.
