This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of all alternative forms of human CD45 antigen (Leukocyte Common Antigen), a 180–220 kDa single-chain type I transmembrane protein expressed at high levels on all hematopoietic cells except erythrocytes and platelets.

Target Information

CD45 (LCA, leukocyte common antigen) is a receptor-type protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) expressed in all nucleated hematopoietic cells, comprising approximately 10% of all surface proteins in lymphocytes. It is absent in non-hematopoietic tissues and cell lines. CD45 glycoprotein regulates lymphocyte development and antigen signaling, acting as a key modulator of Src-family kinases. Multiple isoforms exist due to alternative splicing, differing in extracellular domains but sharing identical transmembrane and cytoplasmic regions. CD45 plays essential roles in T- and B-cell receptor signaling, cytokine receptor regulation, cell survival, and immunological function modulation.
