Product Specific Information
This antibody recognizes a unique epitope "E" and does not cross-block antibodies RFB-4, CLB22/1, and CLB-BLy1.
Target Information
CD22 (BL-CAM) is a type 1 integral membrane glycoprotein (130–140 kDa) expressed in both cytoplasm and cell membrane of B-lymphocytes.
It appears early in B-cell differentiation, similar to CD19, and is mainly expressed in mature B cells (CD22+) but not in plasma cells (CD22−).
CD22 is strongly expressed in hairy cell leukemia and is also positive in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma and nodular lymphocyte predominance Hodgkin’s lymphoma, but negative in classical Hodgkin’s lymphoma.
It binds preferentially to α2,6-linked sialic acid and plays a role in regulating B-cell antigen receptor signaling through tyrosine phosphorylation and interaction with Src family kinases and phosphatases.
