Product Specific Information

This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope on the native form of human HLA-G1 on the cell surface, as well as with the soluble HLA-G5 isoform in its beta2-microglobulin-associated form. Reactivity with HLA-G3 has also been reported. It does not cross-react with mouse.

Target Information

HLA-G belongs to the HLA class I heavy chain paralogues. This class I molecule is a heterodimer consisting of a heavy chain and a light chain (beta-2 microglobulin). The heavy chain is membrane-anchored and approximately 45 kDa in size. The HLA-G gene contains 8 exons:

  • Exon 1 encodes the leader peptide
  • Exons 2 and 3 encode the α1 and α2 domains (peptide-binding)
  • Exon 4 encodes the α3 domain
  • Exon 5 encodes the transmembrane region
  • Exon 6 encodes the cytoplasmic tail

HLA-G is expressed on fetal-derived placental cells.
HLA and MHC antibodies play a significant role in immunopeptidomics, facilitating the identification and characterization of neoantigens through high-performance liquid chromatography coupled to tandem mass spectrometry.
