• Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):
  Incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

The androgen receptor (AR) is a member of the steroid-hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors.
It is a ligand-activated transcription factor that binds active testosterone (T) and dihydrotestosterone (DHT).
Upon ligand binding, the receptor translocates into the nucleus, dimerizes, and stimulates transcription of androgen-responsive genes.

AR signaling plays a key role in:

• Development and function of male reproductive organs (prostate, epididymis)
• Function in nonreproductive organs (muscle, hair follicles, brain)

Androgen Receptor is a phosphoprotein that regulates MAP kinase signaling.
