Product Specific Information

Reconstitution: Add 50 µL or 0.2 mL double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature. Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week. For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10000 × g, 5 min).

Target Information

This gene encodes a G-protein-coupled receptor for melanocyte-stimulating hormone and adrenocorticotropic hormone expressed in tissues other than the adrenal cortex and melanocytes.
It maps to the same region as the locus for benign neonatal epilepsy.
Mice deficient for this gene exhibit increased fat mass despite decreased food intake, indicating a role in energy homeostasis regulation.
Mutations in this gene are associated with susceptibility to obesity in humans.
