• Reconstitution: Add 25 µL, 50 µL, or 0.2 mL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
• The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
• Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
• Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
• For long-term storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
• Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles.
• Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g for 5 min).

Target Information

This gene encodes one of two high-affinity receptors for melatonin, the primary hormone secreted by the pineal gland.
The receptor is a G-protein coupled, 7-transmembrane receptor responsible for melatonin’s effects on mammalian circadian rhythm and reproductive changes influenced by day length.
It is an integral membrane protein localized mainly in two brain regions:

• The hypothalamic suprachiasmatic nucleus (involved in circadian rhythm regulation)
• The hypophysial pars tuberalis (associated with reproductive effects of melatonin)
