Target Information

LSm11 is a 360 amino acid nuclear protein belonging to the LSm subfamily of snRNP Sm proteins.
It contains an N-terminal domain essential for pre-mRNA cleavage and binds specifically to U7 snRNA, playing a role in cell cycle regulation and growth.
The LSm11 gene maps to human chromosome 5, which comprises about 6% of the human genome.
Deletion of the p arm of chromosome 5 leads to Cri du chat syndrome, while deletion of the q arm or entire chromosome 5 is associated with therapy-related acute myelogenous leukemia and myelodysplastic syndrome.
