• Specificity: Reactive with VP40 of Sudan and Zaire Ebola virus sequences; also reactive with virus-like particles (VLPs).
• Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein A chromatography.
• Final formulation: 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M PBS (pH 7.2) containing 0.1% sodium azide.
• Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
• No stabilizing proteins included; store at 4°C until use.
• Working dilution should be determined by the user. Suggested starting ranges:
  • ICC/IF: 1:10–1:50
  • ELISA: 1:20–1:200

Target Information

Ebola virus is an enveloped, negative-stranded RNA virus belonging to the family Filoviridae. It has a distinctive morphology similar to Marburg virus but lacks its antigenic properties. The viral genome is a nonsegmented RNA strand encoding seven structural proteins:

• NP (104 kDa)
• GP (125 kDa)
• L protein (180 kDa)
• VP40 (40 kDa)
• ViPX (35 kDa)
• VP30 (30 kDa)
• VP24 (24 kDa)

GP is the major surface glycoprotein (125 kDa) and the only glycosylated viral protein.
