• Specificity: Reactive with the VP40 of Sudan & Zaire sequences. Reactive with VLPs.
• Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein A chromatography.
• Final preparation: 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.1% sodium azide.
• Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
• No stabilizing proteins included; store at 4°C until use.
• Working dilution must be determined by the user. Suggested starting ranges:
  • ICC/IF: 1:10–1:50
  • ELISA: 1:20–1:200

Target Information

Ebola virus is an enveloped, negative-stranded RNA virus belonging to the Filoviridae family. It has a distinctive morphology similar to Marburg virus but lacks antigenic similarities. The genome is a nonsegmented RNA strand encoding seven structural proteins:

• NP (104 K)
• GP (125 K)
• L protein (180 K)
• VP40 (40 K)
• ViPX (35 K)
• VP30 (30 K)
• VP24 (24 K)

All proteins are encoded by monocistronic mRNA transcripts complementary to virion RNA. GP is the major surface spike protein and the only glycosylated viral protein.
