• Specificity: Reactive with the VP40 of Sudan & Zaire sequences; also reactive with VLPs.
• Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by Protein A chromatography.
• Final preparation: 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M phosphate-buffered saline (pH 7.2) containing 0.1% sodium azide.
• Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
• Contains no stabilizing proteins. Store at 4°C until use.
• Working dilution should be determined by the user. Suggested starting ranges:
  • ICC/IF: 1:10–1:50
  • ELISA: 1:20–1:200

Target Information

Ebola virus is an enveloped, negative-stranded RNA virus belonging to the Filoviridae family. It has a distinctive morphology similar to Marburg virus but lacks antigenic similarity.
The viral genome is a nonsegmented RNA strand encoding seven structural proteins:

• NP (104 kDa): Major nucleoprotein
• GP (125 kDa): Glycoprotein and major surface spike protein (glycosylated)
• L protein (180 kDa)
• VP40 (40 kDa)
• ViPX (35 kDa)
• VP30 (30 kDa)
• VP24 (24 kDa)

All proteins are encoded by monocistronic mRNA transcripts complementary to virion RNA.
