• Specific for the VP40 antigen of Marburg virus.
• Reactive with several native strains; negative for Ebola virus.
• Non-reactive with mammalian cells (ICC/IF).
• Purified preparations consist of >90% pure mouse monoclonal antibody purified from ascites fluid by protein A chromatography.
• Formulated at 100 µg/mL in 0.01 M PBS (pH 7.2) containing 0.1% sodium azide.
• Each vial contains 1.0 mL.
• No stabilizing proteins added; store at 4°C until use.
• Working dilution to be determined by user. Suggested starting ranges:
  • ICC/IF: 1:10–1:50
  • ELISA: 1:20–1:200

Target Information

Marburg virus (MBG) is a member of the Filoviridae family of RNA viruses. It is a highly dangerous pathogen causing severe, contagious, and often lethal hemorrhagic fever (mortality rate 53–88%). The virus was first identified in 1967 during an outbreak among vaccine production workers in Germany exposed to Ugandan green monkeys. VP40 is essential for the assembly and release of new viral particles and suppresses immune signaling in infected cells.
