Target Information
ERK1 and ERK2 are widely expressed kinases involved in regulating meiosis, mitosis, and postmitotic functions in differentiated cells. These pathways are activated by various stimuli such as growth factors, cytokines, and viral infections.
Upon activation, ERKs phosphorylate cytoplasmic targets or translocate to the nucleus to activate transcription factors including c-Fos and Elk-1.
