• Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Rat RANTES (CCL5). The antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and biotinylated.
• Sandwich ELISA: For detecting Rat RANTES (100 µL/well), use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of antibody. In conjunction with PeproTech Anti-Rat RANTES (500-P78) as capture antibody, detects ≥0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Rat RANTES.
• Western Blot: Use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL to detect Rat RANTES. Detection limit: 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
• Packaging: 500-P78BT-1MG is supplied as 2 × 500 µg.

Target Information

CCL5 (RANTES) is a chemokine gene located on chromosome 17q. It belongs to the CC subfamily and acts as a chemoattractant for monocytes, memory T helper cells, and eosinophils. CCL5 promotes histamine release from basophils and activates eosinophils. It is one of the major HIV-suppressive factors produced by CD8+ cells and serves as a natural ligand for CCR5, inhibiting replication of R5 strains of HIV-1. Alternative splicing yields multiple transcript variants. Associated diseases include Human Immunodeficiency Virus Type 1 and Periapical Granuloma.
