1 µg/mL of MA5-45477 was sufficient for detection of TrpC5 in 20 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 110 kDa.
Target Information
TRPC5 belongs to the transient receptor potential (TRP) family and is one of seven mammalian TRPC proteins. It is a multi-pass membrane protein that forms receptor-activated, non-selective calcium-permeant cation channels.
TRPC5 can function alone or as a heteromultimer with TRPC1, TRPC3, and TRPC4. It interacts with proteins such as calmodulin, CABP1, enkurin, NHERF, MX1, RNF24, and SESTD1.
Activation is likely mediated by phosphatidylinositol second messenger systems linked to receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein-coupled receptors. TRPC5 may also be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion.
Diseases associated with TRPC5 include Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis and Pyloric Stenosis.
