Product Specific Information

1 µg/mL of MA5-45479 was sufficient for detection of TrpC5 in 20 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 110 kDa.

Target Information

TRPC5 belongs to the transient receptor family and is one of seven mammalian TRPC (transient receptor potential channel) proteins. It is a multi-pass membrane protein that forms a receptor-activated, non-selective calcium-permeant cation channel. TRPC5 can act alone or as a heteromultimer with TRPC1, TRPC3, and TRPC4. It interacts with proteins such as calmodulin, CABP1, enkurin, NHERF, MX1, RNF24, and SESTD1. TRPC5 is likely regulated by phosphatidylinositol second messenger systems activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors and may also be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion. Diseases associated with TRPC5 include Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis and Pyloric Stenosis.
