Product Specific Information
This MR12-3 monoclonal antibody reacts with the T cell receptor (TCR) V beta 13 chain. TCR specificity is determined by Va, Ja, Vb, Db, and Jb gene rearrangement. The MR12-3 antibody recognizes V beta 13 chains on T cells from mouse strains with the b haplotype of the Tcrb gene (e.g., C57BL/6, B10, C3H).
V beta 13⁺ T cells are deleted in mouse strains with the a (e.g., SJL) and c (e.g., RIIIS/J) haplotypes.
The MR12-3 monoclonal antibody has been reported to have blocking activity.
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis and functional assays.
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse splenocytes; ≤ 0.125 µg per test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody that will stain a sample in 100 µL volume. Optimal titration is recommended.
Fluorophore Information:
- PerCP-eFluor® 710 can replace PE-Cy5, PE-Cy5.5, or PerCP-Cy5.5.
- Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 710 nm; Laser: Blue.
- Recommended filters: 685 LP dichroic mirror and 710/40 band pass (alternative: 695/40 band pass).
- Stable in 2% formaldehyde overnight at 4°C.
- Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

T cell receptors (TCR) discriminate foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, essential for adaptive immune response.
Recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases; mutant peptides are associated with tumors.
Superantigen engagement can cause toxic shock syndrome.
Autoantibodies to V beta segments have been found in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), potentially modulating TH1-mediated inflammation.
Most human T cells express TCR αβ and either CD4 or CD8.
Double negative (DN) αβ T cells are increased in certain autoimmune and immunodeficiency disorders.
γδ T cells, mainly in epithelium, show less diversity and have antitumor and immunoregulatory roles.
