This MR11-1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the mouse T cell receptor (TCR) V beta 12 chain. The MR11-1 antibody recognizes the V beta 12 chain on T cells from mouse strains with the b haplotype (e.g., C57BL/6, B10, C58/J). V beta 12+ T cells are absent in strains with the a (SJL) or c (RIII) haplotypes. Strains expressing Mls antigens (BALB/c, C3H) show fewer V beta 12+ T cells.

Applications Tested: Tested on mouse lymph node cells at ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Cell number: 10^5–10^8 cells/test. Optimize titration for best performance.

PerCP-eFluor® 710 can replace PE-Cy5, PE-Cy5.5, or PerCP-Cy5.5.

Target Information

T cell receptors (TCR) discriminate foreign from self-peptides presented by MHC class II molecules, crucial for adaptive immune response. Recognition of self-peptides is linked to autoimmune diseases; mutant peptides are associated with tumors. Superantigen engagement of TCRs causes toxic shock syndrome. Autoantibodies to V beta segments appear in rheumatoid arthritis and lupus, modulating TH1-mediated inflammation.

Most human T cells express TCR alpha-beta and CD4 or CD8 (SP). Some are double negative (DN), increased in certain autoimmune disorders. Gamma-delta T cells, mainly epithelial, show limited diversity and unique antigen recognition, with antitumor and immunoregulatory roles.
