Target Information
Caspase 3는 cysteine-aspartic acid protease (caspase) 계열에 속하는 단백질로, 세포사멸(apoptosis)의 실행 단계에서 핵심적인 역할을 수행합니다. Caspase들은 비활성 전구효소 형태로 존재하며, 특정 아스파르트산 잔기에서 절단되어 활성 효소로 전환됩니다. Caspase 3는 caspase 6, 7, 9를 절단 및 활성화하며, caspase 8, 9, 10에 의해 활성화됩니다. 또한 알츠하이머병과 관련된 amyloid-beta 전구 단백질의 절단에 관여합니다. 이 유전자는 두 가지 전사 변이를 가지며, 동일한 단백질을 암호화합니다.
