Product Specific Information
MA1-40273 detects CHIPS from Staphylococcus aureus samples.
It has been successfully used in flow cytometry, ELISA, immunohistochemistry (frozen and paraffin), and Western blot applications.
The immunogen is the C-terminus of CHIPS.
Target Information
The bacterial pathogen Staphylococcus aureus is resistant to antimicrobial host defense peptides such as defensins, protegrins, platelet microbicidal proteins, and bacteriocins.
This resistance involves various mechanisms, including CHIPS (Chemotaxis Inhibiting Protein of Staphylococcus aureus), which inhibits neutrophil chemotaxis by blocking the Formyl Peptide Receptor (FPR) and C5a Receptor.
CHIPS and antibodies against CHIPS are valuable for studying infection models and the roles of FPR and C5a in inflammatory processes.
