This antibody recognizes a unique epitope on CD97, a 75–85 kDa surface glycoprotein of the G-protein-coupled receptor family. It is expressed on activated B and T lymphocytes, monocytes/macrophages, dendritic cells, and granulocytes.
Target Information
CD97 is a G-protein-coupled seven-span transmembrane adhesive receptor constitutively expressed on granulocytes and monocytes, and rapidly upregulated on T and B cells upon activation. It is produced in alternatively spliced forms, and its ligand CD55 (DAF) protects cells from complement-mediated damage. Interaction between CD97 and CD55 facilitates leukocyte activation and migration, and CD97 also plays roles in tumor migration, invasiveness, T cell regulation, and granulocyte homeostasis.
