Product Specific Information
This antibody reacts with an extracellular epitope of CD41 (GPIIb), a transmembrane glycoprotein (integrin family) composed of two chains: GPIIb alpha (120 kDa) and GPIIb beta (23 kDa). CD41 is mainly expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes.
Recommended dilution: for 100 µL of whole blood or 1×10⁶ cells in suspension.
Target Information
CD41 (platelet glycoprotein IIb, ITGA2B) consists of two subunits (120 kDa α, 23 kDa β) that interact with CD61 in the presence of calcium to form a functional adhesive protein receptor.
CD41 is involved in platelet aggregation and blood coagulation by binding to von Willebrand factor, fibrinogen, fibronectin, and vitronectin upon vessel injury.
Primarily expressed in megakaryocyte–platelet lineages and during early hematopoietic differentiation.
Associated diseases include Glanzmann Thrombasthenia and Platelet type-16 bleeding disorder.
