This antibody is specific for the S100A9 protein and does not cross-react with S100A8, S100A12, or S100A13.
Target Information
S100A9 (also known as MRP-14) is a member of the S100 family of proteins containing two EF-hand calcium-binding motifs. These proteins are localized in the cytoplasm and/or nucleus of various cells and are involved in regulating cellular processes such as cell cycle progression and differentiation. S100 genes, including at least 13 members, are clustered on chromosome 1q21. S100A9 may inhibit casein kinase activity, and altered expression is associated with cystic fibrosis.
