Target Information
MET (c-Met) is a receptor-like tyrosine kinase whose dysregulation has been linked to many types of human malignancies. Upon ligand activation, MET interacts with PI3-kinase subunit PIK3R1, PLCG1, SRC, GRB2, and STAT3, leading to activation of signaling cascades such as RAS-ERK, PI3K-AKT, and PLCγ-PKC.
MET plays an essential role in embryonic development (gastrulation, muscle and neuron formation, angiogenesis, kidney development) and in adults (wound healing, organ regeneration, tissue remodeling).
Abnormal MET signaling is associated with cancers including gastric, renal, and breast cancers, making it a key target for cancer research and therapeutic development.
