Target Information
B-lymphoid tyrosine kinase (BLK) is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase belonging to the Src family of kinases. It plays an important role in B-cell activation. Protein kinases are enzymes that transfer a phosphate group from a phosphate donor, generally the γ phosphate of ATP, onto an acceptor amino acid in a substrate protein. Through this mechanism, protein kinases mediate most signal transduction in eukaryotic cells, regulating metabolism, transcription, cell cycle progression, cytoskeletal rearrangement, cell movement, apoptosis, and differentiation.
