Target Information
Rad17 is essential for sustained cell growth, maintenance of chromosomal stability, and ATR-dependent checkpoint activation upon DNA damage. It exhibits weak ATPase activity necessary for chromatin binding and participates in recruitment of the RAD1-RAD9-HUS1 complex and RHNO1 onto chromatin, contributing to CHEK1 activation. Rad17 may also act as a sensor of DNA replication progression and play a role in homologous recombination.
