Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of CDK6 only when phosphorylated at Tyr24.
Target Information
CDK6 functions as a cell-cycle initiator protein and is coexpressed and copurified with Cyclin D1. These proteins are critical regulators of cell cycle progression. CDK6, along with CDK4, is involved in the G1 to S phase transition. It is essential for cell proliferation within the dentate gyrus of the hippocampus and the subventricular zone of the lateral ventricles. Mutations in the CDK6 gene are associated with microcephaly 12, primary, autosomal recessive (MCPH12).
