The 8A7 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human BAFF receptor (BLyS receptor), expressed on B cells.
BAFF (B cell-activating factor of the TNF family) is a B cell survival factor that regulates CD21/35 and CD23 expression.
Interaction of BAFF with its receptor increases CD21/35 and CD23 expression, while receptor blockade down-modulates expression.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested on normal human peripheral blood cells at 5 µL (0.125 µg) per test.
A test is defined as the amount of antibody that stains a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL.
Cell number may range from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.

It is a 184-amino-acid transmembrane protein, 56% identical to the mouse protein.
BAFF enhances B-cell survival and regulates peripheral B-cell populations.
It plays a crucial role in B cell development and can function through receptors other than BCMA.
