- Detects endogenous levels of IRAK1 only when phosphorylated at Thr209.
Target Information
IL-1 receptor associated kinases (IRAKs) are serine/threonine kinases involved in signaling via Toll/IL-1 pathways.
IRAK1 is rapidly recruited by MYD88 to the receptor-signaling complex upon TLR activation.
Its association with MYD88 leads to IRAK1 phosphorylation by IRAK4 and subsequent autophosphorylation and kinase activation.
Alternatively, IRAK1 can phosphorylate TIRAP to promote its ubiquitination and degradation.
It also phosphorylates interferon regulatory factor 7 (IRF7), inducing activation and nuclear translocation, which triggers transcription of type I IFN genes and antiviral responses.
