Product Specific Information

The 1B1 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD1d, a 48 kDa glycoprotein structurally homologous to MHC class I molecules. CD1d associates with β2-microglobulin and functions similarly to MHC class II. The 1B1 antibody detects CD1d at varying levels on mouse leukocytes.

• Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes at ≤ 0.6 µg/test (100 µL final volume, 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test)
• Excitation/Emission: 488–561 nm / 578 nm (Blue, Green, Yellow-Green Laser)
• Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered

Each product includes one vial of NovaFluor conjugate and one vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer.
NovaFluor dyes are not compatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes such as propidium iodide, 7-AAD, or DAPI.
Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains are recommended.

CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining with NovaFluor conjugates.

• Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails before combining with cells.
• For single-color controls: use 5 µL per 100 µL cell sample (10³–10⁸ cells).

NovaFluor conjugates utilize Phiton™ technology, based on nucleic acid dye structures engineered for optimized fluorescence with minimal spectral overlap.

Target Information

CD1d is a heavy chain associated with β2-microglobulin, expressed on cortical thymocytes and some epithelial cells. It is the sole group 2 member of the CD1 family, structurally related to MHC proteins, and mediates presentation of lipid and glycolipid antigens to T cells.
Human CD1 family genes are located on chromosome 1 and differ in cellular localization and ligand specificity. CD1d localizes to late endosomes and lysosomes via a tyrosine-based motif in its cytoplasmic tail.
