Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional round of desalting using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Members of the Id family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins include ID1, ID2, ID3, and ID4. These proteins are ubiquitously expressed and form dimers with class A and B HLH proteins.
Due to the absence of the basic region, the heterodimers cannot bind DNA, thereby negatively regulating DNA binding of bHLH proteins.
ID1 inhibits DNA binding of E12 and Myo D, functioning to suppress muscle-specific gene expression. During muscle cell differentiation, ID protein levels decrease, allowing E12/E47 to activate myogenic differentiation.
Expression of ID proteins is strongly dependent on growth factor activation, and reduction of ID mRNA levels delays cell cycle reentry after stimulation.
