For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of about 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step.
Recommended desalting column: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).
Target Information
The ID family of basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) proteins includes ID1, ID2, ID3, and ID4.
These proteins are ubiquitously expressed and form heterodimers with class A and B HLH proteins.
Due to the lack of a basic region, these heterodimers cannot bind DNA, thus ID proteins negatively regulate DNA binding of bHLH proteins.
ID1 inhibits DNA binding of E12 and Myo D, thereby suppressing muscle-specific gene expression.
During muscle cell differentiation, ID protein levels decrease, allowing E12/E47 to interact with Myo D and myogenin to activate myogenic differentiation.
Expression of ID proteins is growth factor-dependent, and reduction of ID mRNA delays cell cycle reentry following growth factor stimulation.
