Product Specific Information

Reconstitution:
Dissolve the protein in sterile double distilled water to a concentration of 0.2 mg/mL or lower. It is recommended that the protein be aliquoted and used as soon as possible. Store aliquots under sterile conditions at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.

Target Information

Cell-mediated immune responses are initiated by T lymphocytes that are stimulated by peptides bound to MHC molecules on antigen-presenting cells (APC).
Activated T cells express receptors such as PD-1 (also known as PDCD-1) that mediate inhibitory signals from APCs. PD-1 binds to two ligands, PD-L1 and PD-L2.
Upon ligand binding, PD-1 inhibits immune activation in the absence of “danger signals” such as LPS or other pathogen-associated molecules.
PD-1 deficiency in mice leads to hyperactivated immune responses and autoimmune diseases.
Despite its predicted molecular weight, PD-1 often migrates at a higher molecular weight in SDS-PAGE.
