Product Specific Information
Reconstitution:
Dissolve the protein in sterile double-distilled water to a concentration of 0.2 mg/mL or lower. It is recommended to aliquot and use immediately. Store aliquots under sterile conditions at -20°C. Avoid repeated freeze-thaw cycles.
Target Information
ICAM-1 (CD54) is an 85–110 kDa single-chain type I integral membrane glycoprotein with an extracellular domain containing five immunoglobulin superfamily repeats, a transmembrane region, and a cytoplasmic domain.
It has seven potential N-linked glycosylation sites and shares sequence homology with ICAM-3 (CD50) and ICAM-2 (CD102).
ICAM-1 binds to integrins CD11a/CD18 (LFA-1) and CD11b/CD18 (Mac-1), and serves as a receptor for Rhinovirus.
Expression occurs in activated endothelial cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, chondrocytes, B and T lymphocytes, monocytes, macrophages, dendritic cells, and neutrophils, with levels increasing upon inflammation.
Detected also in certain carcinoma and melanoma cells. Soluble ICAM-1 is found in plasma and elevated in inflammatory syndromes.
