Description:
The RD-41 monoclonal antibody reacts with murine Rae1 delta, one of several known murine NKG2D ligands including RAE-1 molecules (α, β, ε, γ, δ), H60, and MULT-1. Expression of NKG2D ligands is low or absent on normal adult tissues, but upregulated in stressed or transformed cells, triggering NK cell tumoricidal activity through NKG2D. The RD-41 antibody has been reported to block tetramer staining.

Applications Reported:
This antibody is reported for use in:

• Flow cytometric analysis
• Immunohistology staining of frozen tissue sections
• ELISA

Applications Tested:
Tested in flow cytometric analysis of dendritic cell lines. Recommended use ≤0.25 µg per test (100 µL final volume). Cell number should be determined empirically (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test). Antibody titration is recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

Rae-1 delta is a murine NKG2D ligand, part of the RAE-1, H60, and MULT-1 family. Expression is low in normal tissues but increases in stressed or transformed cells, activating NK cell cytotoxicity via NKG2D. Research on NKG2D ligands commonly uses NKG2D tetramers recognizing all ligands.
