Description:
This 2A9-mIkaros monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse Ikaros, the 70-kDa founding member of the Ikaros family of C2H2-type zinc finger transcription factors. Ikaros is expressed in hematopoietic progenitor cells, thymocytes, mature T and B cells, monocytes, macrophages, and natural killer cells. It is also found in non-immune cells such as neurons. Ikaros interacts with other family members including Aiolos and Eos, and plays roles in thymocyte development, B cell differentiation, cell cycle control, chromatin remodeling, and tumor suppression. It is implicated in leukemia and lymphoma, and regulates genes such as Tdt, CD8a, and Notch targets.

At least eight Ikaros isoforms exist due to alternative splicing. The 2A9-mIkaros antibody recognizes Ikaros isoform VI (Ik-6), the longest and most predominant form.

Applications Tested:
Tested by Western blot using reduced mouse splenocytes. Recommended concentration ≤ 5 µg/mL. Optimize dilution for best performance.

Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

DNA-binding protein IKAROS functions in the specification and maturation of T lymphocytes. It interacts with control elements in the terminal deoxynucleotidyl transferase promoter and other promoters active during early B- and T-cell development.
