Product Specific Information

Mouse anti-Bovine CD14, clone CC-G33, is a monoclonal antibody recognizing bovine CD14 — a GPI-anchored membrane glycoprotein and monocyte/macrophage differentiation antigen. It belongs to the lipopolysaccharide receptor family and is also weakly expressed on microglia and Langerhans cells.

Target Information

CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a multifunctional lipopolysaccharide receptor and is found both in membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 binds lipopolysaccharides via lipopolysaccharide-binding protein (LBP) and plays a role in immune responses, apoptosis recognition, and inflammatory processes. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform. Diseases associated with CD14 dysfunction include Mycobacterium chelonae infection and Croup.
