Mouse anti-bovine CD13, clone CC81, recognizes bovine CD13, a 150 kDa type II membrane protein shown to be a metallopeptidase in humans.
Target Information
CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types.
It acts as a metalloprotease that preferentially removes neutral amino acids from small peptides, thereby activating or inactivating bioactive peptides.
CD13 participates in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, and inflammatory responses.
It regulates intercellular contact, cell motility, and vascularization.
CD13 is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, and myeloid leukemia cells, and is associated with poor prognosis in carcinomas.
Additionally, CD13 serves as an aminopeptidase enzyme and functions as an alpha receptor for coronavirus.
