Mouse anti-Pig CD14, clone MIL2 recognizes porcine CD14.
Target Information
CD14 is a 55 kDa GPI-anchored glycoprotein expressed on mature monocytes, macrophages, and neutrophils. It functions as a lipopolysaccharide (LPS) receptor and exists in both membrane-bound and soluble forms. CD14 interacts with LPS-binding protein (LBP) to mediate immune responses to bacterial components. Soluble CD14 (sCD14) helps neutralize LPS and can recognize structural variations among LPS molecules. It also binds apoptotic cells and is involved in allergic, inflammatory, and infectious processes. Alternative splicing produces multiple transcript variants encoding the same isoform. CD14 dysfunction is associated with conditions such as Mycobacterium chelonae infection and Croup.
