Product Specific Information

The BC96 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD25, the 55 kDa interleukin-2 receptor alpha chain (IL-2Rα). CD25 is expressed by early progenitors of T and B lineage as well as by activated mature T and B lymphocytes. CD25 alone binds IL-2 with low affinity but forms a high-affinity receptor when associated with CD122 (IL-2Rβ) and CD132 (common γ chain). CD25 plays a key role in lymphocyte differentiation and proliferation.

Target Information

CD25 (IL2RA) encodes the α-chain of the interleukin-2 receptor complex, which regulates T and B lymphocyte proliferation. The high-affinity IL-2 receptor consists of IL2RA, IL2RB, and IL2RG subunits. IL2 acts as a growth and differentiation factor, influencing immune cell activation and apoptosis. Mutations in IL2RA are linked to immune dysregulation and autoimmune-like conditions.
