Target Information

ZNRF2 (zinc and ring finger 2), also known as RNF202, is a 242-amino-acid peripheral membrane protein containing a RING-type zinc finger. It localizes to lysosomes, endosomes, and cell junctions, and is highly expressed in brain tissue.
ZNRF2 functions as an E3 ubiquitin-protein ligase, contributing to neuronal transmission and plasticity. Upon DNA damage, it undergoes phosphorylation, likely mediated by ATR or ATM.
Ubiquitination involves three enzyme classes (E1, E2, E3) that target proteins for degradation, maintaining cellular protein homeostasis.
