Target Information
Caspase 9 (ICE-like apoptotic protease 6, ICE LAP6, apoptotic protease Mch6, apoptotic protease activating factor 3, Apaf3)는 peptidase family C14에 속하며 CARD 도메인을 포함합니다. Caspase는 세포 사멸(apoptosis)을 매개하는 시스테인 프로테아제로, 비활성 전구체 형태로 발현되며 특정 기질을 절단하여 활성화됩니다. Caspase 9는 세포질에 존재하며 활성화 시 미토콘드리아로 이동합니다. Caspase 9는 Caspase 3 및 Caspase 6을 절단 및 활성화시키는 세포 사멸 경로의 핵심 효소로 작용합니다. 또한 Apaf-1과 결합하여 Caspase-3을 활성화시키며, DNA 손상 유도성 세포 사멸에 관여하고 PARP를 절단합니다. Caspase 9는 다양한 인간 조직에서 발현되며, 돌연변이는 뇌 발달 이상과 관련이 있습니다. Caspase 9의 발현 저하는 암 및 알츠하이머병과 같은 신경퇴행성 질환과 연관될 수 있습니다.
