Antibodies to this protein (and modification) were previously sold as part of a Thermo Scientific Cellomics High Content Screening Kit.
This replacement antibody is now recommended for researchers who need an antibody for high content cell-based assays.
It has been thoroughly tested and validated for cellular immunofluorescence (IF) applications.
Further optimization, including the selection of the most appropriate fluorescent Dylight-conjugated secondary antibody, may be required for your high content assay.
It is not recommended to aliquot this antibody.

Target Information

STAT1 (signal transducers and activators of transcription 1) is a member of the STAT family of transcription factors.
STAT1 can be activated by interferon-alpha, interferon-gamma, EGF, PDGF, and IL6.
It regulates genes involved in cell growth, apoptosis, immune responses, and lipid metabolism.
STAT1 plays a key role in mediating cell viability in response to various stimuli and pathogen exposure.
The STAT1 gene is located on chromosome 2 and regulates gene expression in response to cytokines, interferons, and growth factors.
After phosphorylation by JAK tyrosine kinases, STAT1 enters the nucleus to regulate transcription of multiple genes.
Among the seven STAT types, STAT1, STAT3, STAT5a, and STAT5b have a broad activation profile.
STAT1 is activated by ligands including IFN family (IFN-Alpha, IFN-Beta, IFN-gamma, IL-10), gp130 family (IL-6, IL-11, LIF, CNTF, G-CSF), and receptor tyrosine kinases (EGF, PDGF, CSF-1).
Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms of STAT1 have been described.
