Target Information
Shiga-like toxins (SLTs)은 Verotoxins라고도 불리며, 주로 O157:H7, O26:H11, O111:H8 혈청형의 Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) 균주에서 생성됩니다.
이들은 hemorrhagic colitis 및 Hemolytic-uremic syndrome의 원인균으로 알려져 있습니다.
SLT-I과 SLT-II는 항원적으로 구별되며, SLT-I은 Shiga toxin과 99%의 아미노산 서열 상동성을, SLT-I과 SLT-II는 약 60%의 상동성을 가집니다.
SLT-II 항체는 SLT-II 변이형(SLT-IIv)을 중화할 수 있으며, 이는 Vero 세포에는 독성을 가지지만 HeLa 세포에는 그렇지 않습니다.
Shiga toxin 단백질은 두 개의 도메인으로 구성되어 있으며, A 사슬은 리보솜을 표적으로 단백질 합성을 억제하고, B 사슬은 수용체 globotriaosylceramide (Gb3)에 결합하여 세포 내로 유입됩니다.
