Target Information
Cytokeratin 8은 염색체 12의 긴 팔에 위치한 type II keratin 계열 단백질로, type I keratin과 함께 중간 필라멘트를 형성하여 상피세포의 구조적 안정성을 유지합니다. 주로 keratin 18과 이합체를 이루며 단층 상피세포에서 발현됩니다. 세포 신호전달 및 분화 과정에도 관여하며, 이 유전자의 변이는 cryptogenic cirrhosis를 유발할 수 있습니다.
