Product Specific Information
This antibody detects endogenous levels of beta Catenin only when phosphorylated at Threonine 41/Serine 45.
Target Information
Beta-catenin is an adherens junction (AJ) protein involved in cell-cell adhesion and signaling. It links E-cadherin to alpha-catenin, connecting the E-cadherin complex to the actin cytoskeleton. Beta-catenin also interacts with adenomatous polyposis coli protein, microtubules, and multiple signaling pathways (tyrosine kinases, phosphatases, Wnt/Wingless).
It plays a key role in epithelial layer formation, morphogenesis, and regulation of cell proliferation via activation of Lef/Tcf transcription factors. Dysregulation is implicated in various cancers including colorectal, ovarian, breast, liver, lung, gastric, prostate, and skin tumors.
